Care and Feeding of your Enaminals
Caring For Your Enameled Jewelry
Your Enaminal jewelry takes special care and feeding just like your furbabies at home. But with just a little effort you can help your Enaminal live a long and healthy life.
What is enamel?
Basically, enamel is a glass powder, usually suspended in a liquid, that is painted on to your jewelry and then baked at a high temperature to fuse the glass particles to the jewelry and each other. This gives us a wonderful selection of colors and surfaces from thin, paint like, coatings to thick textures that look and feel like miniature sculptures.
Caring for your enameled jewelry.
- Your Enaminal is delicate. Do not drop her on any hard surface, she may chip or crack.
- When storing your Enaminal place it in the pouch it was sent to you in, they love velour pouches, or hand them in your jewelry box so that they don't hit your other jewelry.
- You may wipe your Enaminal with a soft microfiber or cotton cloth. For heavy stains rinse in lukewarm water and then pat dry.
- Do not soak your Enaminal in hot water or an ultrasonic cleaner, not even the fish or dolphins.
- Do not take your Enaminal swimming or in the hot tub. Chlorine can be very bad for any fine jewelry, not just your Enaminals.
- Do not use chemical cleaners that could scratch the surface or bleach out the color of your Enaminal
With proper care your Enaminal can last a life time.
